Matthew narrowly misses out on English Open title
Staff member Matthew Armett shot a superb 99 x 100 at the English Open Compak Sporting held at EJ Churchill. This tied with Phil Gray to force a shoot off with Matthew shooting 21 to Phil's 22 to take the runner up spot. Well shot Matthew.

Edward Wins the Krieghoff 500
What a weekend for #teamcocketts @edward_armett at the Krieghoff 500 and English / British double rise.
The Krieghoff - arguably the most prestigious title in domestic trap shooting, is a unique format in the UK - single barrel DTL running on the American Lewis system. It's a 2 day event where the day 1 winner shoots off against the day 2 winner for the title.
Safe to say, day 1 was a bit disappointing, finishing on an 89, but Edward was determined to put that right on day 2 and shot a superb 99. There was one other 99 posted, so Edward had to shoot off with William Buchanan to establish the day 2 winner. Edward won this, so was then in the final shoot off with Mark Stamper.
After one full round, both were tied on 24/25 so another round was needed. Mark dropped a target early on, but Edward held his nerve and shot perfect 25 to take the title.
Edward also managed to pick up 3rd in juniors at the British Open Double Rise, having only shot doubles for the first time at the English Open the previous day.

British Open Junior Champion
Following on from the English Open yesterday #teamcocketts Eedward Armett added to his trophy haul by winning the British Open Single Barrel junior title. Shooting a perfect 100 with Cockett Farm's own Hull HV cartridges, Edward narrowly missed out on the outright title and had to settle for runner up after a shoot off.

£5500 Raised for Cancer Research UK
Thank you to everyone that supported our Roger Collingham Memorial Shoot yesterday. Full results and pictures have been posted on our social media outlets. Through entries, donations and raffles etc. we raised an amazing £5500 for Cancer Research UK.

Success for "Team Cocketts"
Well it didn't take long for our newest sponsored shooter to start making an impact. Catherine Smalley was recently selected for the Great Britain FITASC and came home with a team Bronze from the European championships. Moving onto DTL and Lee Wilcoxson, Paul Meakin and the youngest team member, Edward Armett, have all qualified for the England DTL team to shoot in Ireland in July.

Paul Meakin joins Team Cocketts
We are delighted to announce that Paul Meakin will join our team of sponsored shooters with effect from 1st January 2022. Paul has shot ABT for England and in 2021 gained a place in the England DTL team. Paul uses the very popular Custom HV load, specially loaded for Cockett Farm by Hull Cartridge.

£3000 Raised for Cancer Research UK
The Roger Collingham Memorial shoot was held on the 17th July. The sun was shining and there was very little breeze, we couldn't have asked for a nicer day. The day got under way at 10:00 with competitors starting with 25 High Skeet followed by 25 Compact Sporting then 50 Sporting to conclude. Kevin Warner on squad 1 set the pace with 88, which looked to be good enough until Pat Dickman, on the last quad of the day, shot 91. All of the cash winners very kindly donated their winnings back to the charity so at the end of the day we had raised £3000 for Cancer Research.

Cartridge Range Extended
We have added three cartridges to the range that we hold in stock. The Hull Sporting 100 is a mid range shell, aimed at the competitive shooter but at sensible price. Fiocchi Litespeed is our lowest priced shell at just £187/1000 these are sure to be popular with the club shooter. Only available in 26 gram 8 shot. Finally the Gamebore Velocity Pigeon is a great value 30 gram pigeon load.

Roger Collingham Memorial Shoot Announced
We are delighted to confirm that we will be holding a memorial shoot for the Ground's founder Roger Collingham. The shoot will take place on 17th July 2021 and will comprise of 100 targets with cash and cartridge prizes. The event, sponsored by Hull Cartridge Company & Laporte CPC, will consist of 25 High Skeet, 25 Sport Trap and 50 sporting on a completely new course situated on a previously unused part of the ground. Cockett Farm Opening 29th March 2021
In accordance with the "Road Map" for coming out of lockdown, Cockett Farm is planning to re-open on Monday 29th March.
The health & safety of our staff and customers remains our priority so Covid procedures that were in place prior to this lockdown will remain in place for now. Subject to further clarification from the CPSA, individual lessons will also re commence on the 29th.
Phone lines for lesson and shooting bookings will re-open at 10:00 on 15th March.
