COCKETT FARM SHOOTING GROUND
General Information

Tuition

Safe gun handling, sound basic technique and proper gun fit are all fundamental to enjoying and achieving good scores at clay shooting.

Those new to the sport should consider a few lessons as essential before purchasing their first shotgun or attempting to shoot unsupervised. Just because you have a license to own a gun does not necessarily mean that you know how to use it!!!

Individual tuition is available in all disciplines from Roger Collingham, the ground owner. Roger has many years experience as an instructor and has been a regular member of the Nottinghamshire county team since the early 1980’s.

For those shooting game rather than clays, a variety of targets from our sporting and FITASC ranges can simulate most testing situations that you will face in the field. As a keen game shooter, Roger also offers advice on shooting etiquette and field safety for those just starting out.

Whether you are just starting out, suffering with a “bogey bird” or just looking to gain that competitive edge, a helping hand may be all that you need.

For those who do not have their own equipment, we have a selection of guns available, including smaller gauges, suitable for ladies and juniors.
