General Information
Whether male or female, young or old, clay pigeon shooting is
a sport that can be enjoyed by a huge variety of people. As an
addictive hobby, you can participate on an informal basis with
a few friends or progress to registered competitions, with the
ultimate aim of representing your country at the Commonwealth
and Olympic Games.
Clay pigeon shooting has at least 20 different forms of regulated
competition called disciplines. These can be roughly divided into
three main groups: Sporting, Trap and Skeet. All are featured
by Cockett Farm, offering a superb, all round facility. In all,
8 disciplines are offered, ensuring that there is something to
appeal to all enthusiasts and ability levels.
Cockett Farm features a purpose built, spacious clubhouse with
light refreshments available. The ground is open to all, with
no membership fees applicable. Whether a complete beginner or
an International standard shot, you can be assured of a warm welcome
and a rewarding day shooting.
All the equipment necessary for safe shooting, including guns,
ammunition, hearing & eye protection is available at the ground,
where a small charge may be made. Hearing & eye protection
are advisable at all times when shooting or in the company of
others who are shooting.
Insurance cover is in effect for shooting activities at the ground,
in addition we also hold a P11D certificate allowing those without
their own shotgun license to enjoy the sport when appropriately
supervised. Cockett Farm is an affiliated member of the sport's
Governing Body - The Clay Pigeon Shooting Association.
