General Information

Whether male or female, young or old, clay pigeon shooting is a sport that can be enjoyed by a huge variety of people. As an addictive hobby, you can participate on an informal basis with a few friends or progress to registered competitions, with the ultimate aim of representing your country at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games.

Clay pigeon shooting has at least 20 different forms of regulated competition called disciplines. These can be roughly divided into three main groups: Sporting, Trap and Skeet. All are featured by Cockett Farm, offering a superb, all round facility. In all, 8 disciplines are offered, ensuring that there is something to appeal to all enthusiasts and ability levels.

Cockett Farm features a purpose built, spacious clubhouse with light refreshments available. The ground is open to all, with no membership fees applicable. Whether a complete beginner or an International standard shot, you can be assured of a warm welcome and a rewarding day shooting.

All the equipment necessary for safe shooting, including guns, ammunition, hearing & eye protection is available at the ground, where a small charge may be made. Hearing & eye protection are advisable at all times when shooting or in the company of others who are shooting.

Insurance cover is in effect for shooting activities at the ground, in addition we also hold a P11D certificate allowing those without their own shotgun license to enjoy the sport when appropriately supervised. Cockett Farm is an affiliated member of the sport's Governing Body - The Clay Pigeon Shooting Association.
